Governor Brown signed three bills over the weekend that will help to accelerate bioenergy development in California:
- AB 1826 (Chesbro) requires recycling of commercial organic waste (diversion from landfills);
- AB 1594 (Williams) phases out the diversion (recycling) credit for green waste that is used as Alternative Daily Cover on landfills; and
- SB 498 (Lara) clarifies the definition of biomass conversion.
